Web Design

WordPress websites built properly

If you need WordPress, I build with Bricks Builder for speed, flexibility, and clean code. No bloated themes, no page builder shortcuts.

WordPress isn't always the answer, but sometimes it's the right one

I'll be honest. For most small business websites, I don't use WordPress. I'm based in Falkirk and I work with businesses across Scotland and the UK. For the majority of them, I build with modern tools that are faster, more secure, and don't need the constant maintenance that WordPress demands.

But WordPress is still the right choice in certain situations. If you need an online shop with WooCommerce, if you rely on specific WordPress plugins, if you want to manage your own content day-to-day, or if you already have a WordPress site that needs rebuilding properly, then WordPress makes sense. And when it does, I build it properly.

I'm an accredited Bricks Builder developer and I offer WordPress web design for businesses that specifically need it. Bricks is a visual builder that outputs clean, lightweight code instead of the bloat you get from Elementor, Divi, or similar tools. The result is a custom WordPress website that actually loads fast and doesn't fall apart when a plugin updates.

When WordPress is the right fit

WordPress makes sense for certain types of project. Here are the most common reasons clients choose it.

You need an online shop

WooCommerce is the most popular ecommerce platform for a reason. Product listings, payment processing, stock management, shipping, and discount codes. If you're selling products online, this is the setup.

You rely on specific plugins

Booking systems, membership areas, course platforms, CRM integrations. If your business depends on a particular WordPress plugin, it makes sense to build on WordPress.

You want to edit content yourself

WordPress gives you a familiar dashboard where you can update text, swap images, publish blog posts, and manage pages without needing to contact me every time.

You already have a WordPress site

If your current site is WordPress but it's slow, outdated, or built on a bloated theme, I can rebuild it on Bricks Builder. Same platform, dramatically better performance.

Built with Bricks

Not all WordPress sites are created equal

Most WordPress sites are built with Elementor, Divi, or WPBakery. These tools are popular because they're easy, but they add enormous amounts of bloat to your site. Slow loading, messy code, and security vulnerabilities are standard.

I build exclusively with Bricks Builder. It's a visual builder that generates clean, lightweight code. Your WordPress site loads fast, ranks better, and doesn't break every time a plugin updates.

Clean code output

Bricks generates minimal, semantic HTML and CSS. No shortcodes, no inline styles, no framework overhead. Just clean code that browsers and search engines love.

Faster than traditional WordPress

A Bricks-built site loads significantly faster than one built with Elementor or Divi. That means better user experience, better Google rankings, and fewer visitors bouncing.

Full design control

No template restrictions. Every element is custom designed and custom built. Your site looks and works exactly how it should, not how a theme decides.

Everything else stays the same

Whether I build your site on WordPress or with my standard tools, you get the same level of service. Custom design, mobile responsive, SEO foundations, domain and email setup, analytics, security, and full ownership from day one. The full list of what's included applies to every project regardless of platform.

Your WordPress site also comes with a monthly support plan that covers hosting, security monitoring, plugin updates, backups, and ongoing support. WordPress needs more maintenance than a static site, so this is especially important. I handle all of it so you don't have to.
