Google Business Profile

Google Business Profile reinstatement when you've been suspended

I investigate what went wrong, build your appeal, and work to get your listing reinstated with your reviews intact. From £199.

A suspended profile means lost customers every single day

If your Google Business Profile has been suspended, you've disappeared from Google Maps, the local pack, and Local Service Ads. Every day the suspension continues is a day your competitors are getting the calls that should be going to you. I've seen businesses lose hundreds of pounds a week from a suspended listing.

Most business owners try to fix it themselves first. They submit an appeal, it gets rejected, and they're stuck. Some contact Google support and get sent in circles. Others get told to "create a new profile," which means losing all their reviews. That's not the right answer.

I've recovered suspended Google Business Profiles for businesses across Falkirk, Edinburgh, and the rest of the UK. I know what causes suspensions, how the appeals process works, and what Google's review teams actually look for. I'll give you an honest assessment before you pay anything.

Do NOT do any of these before we have spoken

Most failed reinstatements I see were made worse by the owner trying to fix it themselves first. Once Google has flagged your account, the wrong move makes the second appeal harder. Specifically, do not:

  • Create a duplicate profile. Adding a second profile while one is suspended almost guarantees both get flagged. The duplicate is treated as guideline evasion.
  • Change the business name repeatedly. Multiple name changes inside the suspension window read as keyword-stuffing or fraud. Pick the right legal name once.
  • Submit a vague appeal. "Please reinstate my profile" or "I do not know why I was suspended" gets auto-rejected. Appeals need to address the specific guideline you broke and evidence it is now fixed.
  • Delete the suspended profile. Some advice online suggests this. It does not work; the suspension is on the business identity, not the listing. Deleting loses your reviews and history.
  • Appeal again after a rejection without changing anything. Repeating the same appeal multiple times can permanently disable the profile.

If any of these have already happened, tell me upfront when you reach out. We can still recover most situations; the assessment is free either way.

Common reasons for GBP suspensions

Suspensions can happen for a range of reasons. Sometimes it's something you did. Sometimes it's a mistake on Google's end.

Business name violations

Adding keywords or location names to your business name that aren't part of your legal name. Google is strict about this.

Address issues

Using a virtual office, PO box, or an address that doesn't match your actual business location. Service-area businesses have specific requirements.

Category or service mismatches

Claiming categories or services that don't match what your business actually does. Google verifies this through reviews and web content.

Duplicate listings

Having more than one profile for the same business at the same address. This can happen accidentally if a previous owner or agency created one.

Review manipulation

Fake reviews, review exchanges, or paying for reviews. Google's detection has improved significantly and suspensions for this are increasing.

Account security issues

Sometimes suspensions are triggered by security flags on the account owner's Google account, not the business profile itself.

The process

How Google Business Profile reinstatement works

01

I assess your situation

I review your profile, your account, and the suspension details. I'll tell you honestly what I think caused it and whether reinstatement is likely. No charge for this initial assessment.

02

I investigate the cause

I dig into the specifics: account flags, listing history, guideline violations, duplicate profiles, and anything else that could have triggered the suspension.

03

I build and submit the appeal

I prepare a detailed appeal addressing the specific cause of suspension with supporting evidence. I submit through the correct channels and follow up with Google's review team.

04

Profile restored

Once reinstated, I verify everything is working correctly: your listing is live, reviews are intact, and your profile is optimised to prevent future issues.

Evidence checklist

What to gather before we appeal

A reinstatement appeal is only as strong as the evidence it carries. Before we submit anything, I will ask for as much of the following as you have. The more verifiable the better.

  • The suspension email or notice you received from Google, with timestamp.
  • The profile URL (or CID, if you have it).
  • Business registration: Companies House record, sole-trader registration, or equivalent.
  • Address proof: utility bill, lease agreement, or other proof tied to the listed address.
  • Service-area proof (if you are a service-area business): vehicle photos, signage, geographic invoicing.
  • Signage / premises photos showing your business name as it appears on the profile.
  • Recent customer-facing evidence: invoices (anonymised), customer correspondence, dated receipts.
  • Your website: especially the contact, about, and service pages, which need to match the profile.
  • History of any prior appeals: what was said, what Google said back, and when.
  • Account context: who owns the Google account, has it ever been flagged for security, are there other businesses on it.

Google's official guidance lives at Fix a suspended Business Profile. The page is general; the work of building an actually winning appeal for your specific situation is what I do.

I'll be honest with you

Not every suspended profile can be reinstated. Some violations are permanent. Some accounts have been flagged by Google in ways that can't be reversed. I won't take your money and promise a result I can't deliver.

That's why the initial assessment is free. I'll look at your situation, tell you what I think the chances are, and only proceed if I believe reinstatement is realistic. If it's not, I'll tell you that upfront and advise on alternatives, including whether creating a new profile (and how to rebuild reviews) makes sense.

Reinstatement timelines vary. Some cases resolve in days. Others take weeks, especially if multiple appeals are needed. I keep you updated throughout and don't disappear until it's resolved. Once your profile is back, I can help keep it healthy with ongoing GBP management through a monthly support plan.

From £199
