The situation

First Choice Roof Repairs came to me after a month without leads. Their Google Business Profile had been suspended without warning, taking their Local Service Ads down with it. For a roofing company that relied on LSAs as their main lead driver, this was an emergency.

They had already contacted multiple companies for help. None would even look at it without upfront payment in the £300+ range, and no one could explain what had actually gone wrong. By the time they reached out to me, they had already used both of their appeal attempts.

What I found

After investigating, I identified the root cause: an unusual security error on the GBP owner’s account. This wasn’t a standard policy violation. It was something buried in the account settings that most providers would never think to check.

Other companies had suggested scrapping the profile entirely and starting fresh. That would have meant losing 30+ Google reviews built up over years of work.

What I did

Month 1: I took over the appeal process and worked through the Google support forums to recover their original profile with all 30+ reviews intact. The reinstatement took around 4 weeks. Without the two failed appeals before I got involved, it would have been under a week. I also got their Local Service Ads back online and optimised their Google Business Profile.

On the first day their ads went live again, the client messaged me: “Two emails and one phone call already today.”

Month 2: I built them a brand new website from scratch. Their existing site had been set to noindex, meaning Google didn’t even know it existed. The new site is fast, mobile friendly, and designed to convert local searches into phone calls and enquiries. I started ongoing SEO work and LSA optimisation alongside the new build.

Month 3: The client was hit by a fake review scam targeting their Google Business Profile. I handled the investigation and removal process for them, protecting the reputation they had worked hard to build.
